At Golding Health and Education, we believe that assessment should be about understanding, not simply diagnosing.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that every individual has their own way of thinking, communicating, learning and experiencing the world. We look beyond diagnostic criteria alone to understand the person behind them - their strengths, challenges, experiences, relationships, environment and the strategies they may have developed to navigate a world that does not always accommodate neurodivergent ways of being.
We recognise that many children, young people and adults reach assessment after years of feeling misunderstood, having their experiences dismissed, or working hard to fit in. For some, this can mean masking their difficulties so successfully that the extent of their challenges is not immediately visible. We therefore take the time to listen carefully and consider the whole picture, including the individual’s own experience and the perspectives of those who know them best.
At Golding Health and Education, we combine professional expertise with genuine understanding. Our multidisciplinary experience across mental health, psychology, education, nursing and neurodevelopment means we can look beyond a single presentation and consider the wider context of an individual’s life.
We want every person and family who comes to us to feel heard rather than judged, understood rather than labelled, and valued for who they are. We understand that seeking an assessment can be a significant step for a family, often following a long period of uncertainty and questions. Our aim is to make that journey feel supportive and reassuring, while providing a thorough and clinically robust assessment.
Most importantly, we want families to leave with a greater understanding of their child or themselves, a clearer appreciation of their strengths and needs, and a sense of confidence about what comes next.
Our preferred method is offering a personalised experience with face-to-face interaction throughout the process. We believe in experiencing interaction first-hand - direct observation ensures the most accurate evaluation, however, we are flexible and can make adjustments depending on individual needs and personal circumstances.
Flexible online option available for certain circumstances, while maintaining our high standards of assessment quality and thoroughness.
